Dirham coins from the East were prized by the vikings for the purity of their silver, and were traded across Scandinavia and Viking Europe. They often turn up in hoards, and sometimes, like this replica, they were made into pendants. The coins were also counterfeited; an example from York was made of bronze and then coated in tin.
Our pewter replica Dirham pendant is cast by us in lead free pewter, and hand finished at our workshop in Scotland. It's supplied on a length of black waxed cord.
