AV043 - Repton Hammer

The Repton Hammer, so called because it was found at Repton, was found buried with its owner. Archaeologist think that the owner was probably part of the Great Heathen army who camped there over the winter of 874, having already conquered Northumbria and Mercia. It was found hung around it's owners neck, complete with two glass beads. The beads adorning this hammer are a modern take on the orginal find.

This pewter piece has been cast and hand finished by us in Scotland, and comes with a length of waxed cord and two glass beads.

The silver option is cast for us in England, and assayed 925 Sterling silver in Birmingham. It is then hand finished and polished by us in Scotland. It is supplied with a length of black leather cord, and comes in a gift box with a description on the reverse.
