Based on the design on the Class 1 symbol stone from Newton House Aberdeenshire, and dated to around the 6th cenutry.

This design is found on a number of Pictish stones, and could represent wisdom, or possibly new life or beginnings.

AC002 - Crescent and V Rod

A pewter version of this common Pictish symbol stone carving. The crescent could represent the moon, and it has been found carved on stones from the Isle of Syke to Aberdeenshire.

AC004 - Burghead Bull

This pendant is taken from one of 6 surviving stones from over 30 mentioned in historical records. The bull symbol was thought to adorn the ramparts of the Pictish fort at Burghead on the Moray coast. The bull was an important symbol that represented strength and fertility.

While some scholars believe this to be a dolphin or 'water elephant,' it is most likely to represent a water spirit. These 'Kelpies' are said to inhabit many Scottish lochs.

AC006 - Pictish Spiral

The spiral was a common form of decoration in pre-Roman Britain and it managed to survive in Pictish areas. It was still used up until the 8th century, and was a common motif on symbol stones.

This pendant design has been adapted from the Meigle 2 Pictish stone from Perth & Kinross.

It represents a fusion of the ancient Celtic traditions of spiral patterns and the later knotwork style.

This pendant is based on the round discs from the Monymusk reliquary and considered to be a fine example of Pictish metal working. The Monymusk reliquary is also considered to have been the reliquary of St. Columba, the Brecbennoch, which was carried before the Scottish army at the battle of Bannockburn.

The St Ninian's hoard was discovered in July 1958 in an excavation in a medieval church. The St Ninian's treasure hoard can currently be seen in the Museum of Scotland (Edinburgh), replicas are displayed by the Shetland Museum.
